Just A Quick Note

Winter ended back in March though winter doesn’t seem to really end here in New England until April sometime. Then spring slipped in somewhere along the way and, for a few weeks, the temperatures have been telling us it’s now summer. I don’t know about you but most of this all seemed to blend together while the focus continued to be on Covid-19 and on when to go back to the office.
Amy and I returned to our office a few weeks ago, unfortunately our office policy still precludes in-person meetings. Typically, there have been one or two others in the office each day we have been here. Daily temperature checks and making sure we don’t feel sick, along with wearing masks when not in our office suite, have become the norm. I do remember what it was like before, however, I’m thinking that the “before” will become “never again”, as we keep hearing about the new normal of which we catch glimpses every day, in one way or another.
I have tried to look at these changes as opportunities such as dinners with the family each night (now that I relinquished the dining room table as my remote desk and I’m getting home earlier) and, to some extent, seeing the pace of things getting less frenetic. Or finding where one jigsaw puzzle piece goes while my mother-in-law Barbara very quickly figures out the other 999 pieces!
Change is difficult sometimes and especially difficult for some people. We can usually find good in change. Sometimes we need to look harder but when we find it, enjoy it…savor it.
To quote Dennis Mosely-Williams, “change for the better” rather than changing back to normal may be a more positive way to look ahead to tomorrow.
Take care and be well.
Until next time…
Gary
