Halloween – Trick or Treat – Is Back!

It’s been two years since Halloween was last celebrated in a normal fashion. Some say Halloween is for the kids but it’s also for the adults who enjoy chatting with the costumed visitors.
This year we probably had 75 to 90 visitors. They were happy and they were all polite. They said thank you when Dianne dropped candy into their pumpkins or sacks.
Yes, there were some teenagers who came trick-or-treating; but they were in costume and they were polite as well. Dianne loves chatting with all the Halloween visitors and she has a knack to getting each one of them to talk with her. Sometimes Dianne’s smile was bigger than the trick-or-treater’s as she engaged them in conversation.
Our Halloween evening was topped off by a group of seven high school freshmen girls, all in costume. Chloe whose family are friends of ours and her friends were especially friendly, funny and chatty…they even performed a short SNL skit as we sat on our front steps and were entertained by these seven young ladies.
With our supply of Halloween candy exhausted and with several more trick-or-treaters walking up our driveway, a handful of the girls quickly grabbed candy from their sacks and deposited it into the bowl we were using.
The young and older visitors were all polite, and the opportunity to engage with the younger generation was a welcomed change to the last year and a half plus. Halloween was fun again this year!
Until next time…
